How to Pack Fragile Items for Courier
Updated 2026-07-22 · Rathod Packing Material
Fragile shipping fails when items can move inside the carton. Immobilize the product with wrap and void fill, use a strong enough box, then seal with proper H-taping.
Fragile pack-out steps
- Wrap each fragile unit in bubble wrap or foam — cover corners and edges.
- Choose a carton with room for cushioning on all sides.
- Fill every void so nothing rattles when you shake-test the closed box.
- Seal with packing tape using an H-pattern on top and bottom seams.
- Mark orientation if the product must stay upright.
Common mistakes
- Using an oversized carton with newspaper that settles in transit
- Wrapping well but leaving empty corners
- Choosing 3-ply for heavy glass sets that need a stiffer shell

FAQs
Is a fragile sticker enough?
No. Labels help handling awareness, but cushioning, right-size cartons, and no-shift void fill do the real protection work.
